Senior Support Lines (Quebec & Canada)

Info-Social 811

  • Service: 24/7 confidential psychosocial support from professionals
  • Use it for: Emotional distress, caregiver burnout, elder abuse, anxiety

Elder Abuse Help Line

  • Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 7 days a week
  • Service: Confidential helpline for seniors or caregivers witnessing or experiencing abuse

Tel-Aînés / Senior-Aware (Tel-Aide pour aînés)

  • Service: Peer listening line for seniors feeling isolated or lonely
  • Languages: French (some support in English available)

Caregiver Support Help Line (L'Appui pour les proches aidants)

Service: Free referral service for community and social resources, including:

  • Offers: Discounts, social clubs, advocacy, and workshops

Local CLSCs (Centres locaux de services communautaires)

  • Offer home care, nursing, social work, occupational therapy
  • Find your local CLSC through the Santé Québec site

AQDR (Association québécoise de défense des droits des personnes retraitées et préretraitées)

Meals on Wheels (Popote Roulante)

  • Local volunteer-run meal delivery for homebound seniors
  • Available in most cities and towns – find via 211 or your CLSC

Volunteer Centres (Centres d'action bénévole)

RAMQ

Aid programs — The aid programs managed by RAMQ include financial assistance or technical assistance such as the provision of a prosthesis. Certain services or prescription drugs are available free of charge. Each program has its own eligibility criteria and specific procedure.
